We're talking about making Real Impact in the world

Partnering with the Current Wisdom Foundation, the Escondido Education Foundation encourages Escondido Union middle school students to organize a project that raises funds to address a community, regional or global need (which does not directly benefit them or their school.) Qualifying student groups, one per middle school, receive $100 seed funds and up to $500 in matching funds.
Last year, students in the Club LIVE and PLUS at Hidden Valley Middle School worked together to select the Escondido Humane Society as their beneficiary. As part of the project they dubbed, "Coins for Critters," students planned and carried out three fundraisers and presented the results of their generosity and hard work in a ceremony in May 2011. Congratulations to the students and teacher advisors who made this pilot year of Real Impact such a success for all the animals at the Escondido Humane Society, for themselves as leaders, and for the community of Escondido. Bravo!
