Escondido Education Foundation's Endowment
Supporting innovation over the long term
The Escondido Education Foundation has two funds within its endowment in honor of two very special ladies. You may direct your gift to one of the two funds or let us decide. In either case, your gift helps grow a permanent fund that over time will generate dividends that the Foundation will invest in the best and brightest ideas in the school district. Please consider leaving a bequest in your will or trust that will benefit students in perpetuity, a step that creates a legacy for our community's children. Contact the Executive Director with questions.
The Carilyn Gilbert Endowment Fund
Because of her dedication and long involvement in Escondido schools, the Gilbert family wishes to honor Carilyn Gilbert's life work and memory through a fund dedicated to reading and literacy.
The Peggy Raymond Reading Endowment Fund
Jack Raymond, founding board member of the Escondido Education Foundation, has established the Peggy Raymond Reading Endowment Fund in memory of his mother, a long-time educator in Escondido. This fund focuses on literacy and libraries because of drastic cuts to school libraries, because Peggy was a master reading teacher, and because, as Jack says, "Reading is the key to it all!"
